Description

  • Collaborate with the development team on the shared codebase to implement new features, bug fixes, and improvements
  • Develop clean, efficient, and secure code using PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, and WordPress libraries
  • Contribute to the full development lifecycle, including architectural discussions, coding standards, and product decisions
  • Write inline code documentation and produce testing guides for implemented features
  • Test code and provide guidance on testing approaches and quality assurance
  • Research, debug, and resolve problems independently or in collaboration with other developers and the support team
  • Manage your own time and tasks to meet agreed deliverables and priorities
  • Participate in team meetings and synchronous collaboration as needed to coordinate work and reviews

Requirements

  • Proven experience in WordPress plugin development or building solutions around WordPress
  • Strong PHP skills (core language for WordPress development)
  • Experience with JavaScript and jQuery (essential)
  • Ability to write secure, maintainable code and follow coding standards
  • Experience producing inline documentation and testing guides (or willingness to do so)
  • Ability to research and debug complex issues, both independently and collaboratively
  • Familiarity with Git/GitHub/GitLab (nice to have but not mandatory)
  • Experience with prefetching data and optimizing plugin performance (preferred)
  • Capacity to work as a freelancer/contractor and manage your own schedule (option to work up to 40 hours/week)
  • Availability for at least 4 hours of daily overlap with UK working hours
