Description

  • Design, build, and maintain dbt models and Snowflake data marts that power dashboards, reports, and core business metrics.
  • Lead initiatives to evolve data architecture, warehouse optimization, and data governance across the analytics ecosystem.
  • Translate business and product questions into scalable data models, semantic layers, and clear analytical outputs in partnership with analysts, product managers, and operations.
  • Champion code quality, documentation, and version control (GitHub) for analytics projects and enforce modern analytics engineering patterns.
  • Monitor data pipelines and warehouse performance, implement alerting, and apply cost-optimization strategies such as warehouse sizing and query tuning.
  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for analytical consumption and ensure data reliability and trustworthiness.
  • Mentor and train peers and downstream users to enable self-service analytics and better use of tools like Looker, Omni, or Hex.
  • Drive scalable best practices for analytics engineering, including model reuse, testing, and performance-aware design.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as an Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer, or BI Engineer working with modern data stacks.
  • Deep expertise in SQL, dbt, and Snowflake, including development and warehouse management.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python or Java.
  • Proven track record designing scalable data models and ETL/ELT pipelines for analytical consumption.
  • Experience with data pipeline monitoring, warehouse performance tuning, and cost-optimization strategies (e.g., warehouse sizing, query tuning).
  • Familiarity with semantic layers and self-service BI workflows and tools (e.g., Looker, Omni, Hex).
  • Experience with code versioning and collaboration workflows (GitHub) and championing documentation and testing practices.
  • Experience leading initiatives, mentoring peers, and partnering cross-functionally with product, analytics, and operations teams.
