Description

  • Develop Tailscale product features across client code and backend services.
  • Build and maintain the native Windows desktop client using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML, and Go.
  • Implement support for new Windows platform features while maintaining compatibility with older Windows versions.
  • Develop and optimize Windows product features, with emphasis on UI components and platform integration.
  • Create and maintain unit and integration tests using Microsoft Testing Platform v2 and xUnit.
  • Contribute to shared cross-platform code supporting macOS, mobile, and other client platforms.
  • Work closely with engineers on technical product development in a remote, asynchronous environment.

Requirements

  • 4 or more years of experience in software development.
  • Strong understanding of software development principles and the capabilities and limitations of the Windows platform.
  • Proficiency in C# and modern native UI frameworks such as WinUI, UWP, or WPF.
  • Experience with general networking concepts including DNS, VPNs, IP networking, and routing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback and work independently.
  • Flexibility to adjust to the dynamic nature of a startup.
  • Experience with WinUI 3 and Windows App SDK preferred.
  • Experience developing native Windows applications and services preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Windows networking stack and Windows Filtering Platform preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Windows security model, session isolation, and access tokens preferred.
  • Proficiency in Go preferred.
