Description

  • Manage and grow a small, senior Solutions Engineering team through coaching, hiring, and hands-on leadership.
  • Set and maintain a high standard for enterprise discovery, technical evaluations, and rollouts.
  • Partner with Sales as a technical counterpart on complex enterprise opportunities and deal strategy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve proofs of concept, technical positioning, and customer feedback loops.
  • Provide actionable feedback to Product and Engineering based on concrete customer use cases and enterprise constraints.
  • Stay current on cloud, DevOps, networking, and security trends to strengthen the team’s technical and communication skills.
  • Act as a player-coach by participating in important deals while developing the team’s judgment and technical depth.

Requirements

  • Experience leading people, ideally as a working manager who remains hands-on.
  • Experience in a technical, enterprise customer-facing role such as Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, or similar.
  • Clear, confident, and opinionated communication skills with the ability to explain complex systems simply.
  • Solid understanding of networking and security fundamentals, including AWS VPCs and Azure virtual networks.
  • Hands-on technical background with developer tooling, DevOps principles, and modern cloud architectures such as CI/CD, infrastructure, and APIs.
  • Ability to explain Tailscale’s value in terms of customer outcomes and technical trade-offs.
  • Experience in cloud, DevOps, networking, or security environments is preferred.
  • Comfort working closely with Sales, Support, Product, Engineering, and Marketing across the customer lifecycle.
