Description

  • Lead a small, high-leverage team of senior and staff security engineers and grow the team through hiring and talent development.
  • Own the security engineering roadmap, standards, budget, and technical direction.
  • Set functional strategy with the CISO and senior leadership and translate security strategy into operational plans and policy.
  • Act as the final decision-maker for security-engineering standards, tooling, and practices.
  • Use an AI-first approach to deliver security capabilities that help engineering build better systems and code.
  • Make AI-assisted development safe across the organization and defend AI agents and production workloads as a first-class attack surface.
  • Partner closely with product teams to shape roadmap decisions and mature cloud defense and AI workload protection capabilities.
  • Represent security with executives and major customers on significant security matters.
  • Drive continuous assurance of controls that support ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and SOC 2 Type II compliance.
  • Champion Sysdig’s values and help build a culture of trust, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 7 or more years of experience in security or software engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience leading and developing engineers.
  • Experience owning a team’s roadmap, outcomes, and budget.
  • Demonstrated deep partnership with engineering teams.
  • Experience using AI and agentic tooling to deliver security capability.
  • Credibility to engage executives and customers on security matters.
  • Technical foundations in cloud security and Kubernetes security.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and modern CI/CD.
  • A view of compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and SOC 2 Type II as continuous assurance to automate.
  • Familiarity with eBPF and runtime security concepts (preferred).
  • Experience building internal developer platforms or secure paved-road/scaffolding tooling (preferred).
  • Background in promoting AI workloads or shipping AI security capabilities (preferred).
  • A public voice through conference talks, writing, or open-source work is welcomed but not required.
