Description

  • Lead the day-to-day security operations and incident response function, serving as the primary escalation point for critical security incidents.
  • Architect and implement security operations frameworks, processes, and runbooks that can scale with organizational growth.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of security professionals, including 5 direct reports and approximately 11 team members overall.
  • Oversee the selection, deployment, and optimization of security tools and technologies across the security stack.
  • Serve as the authoritative voice on security matters during major incidents and brief C-suite leadership with clear recommendations.
  • Coordinate cross-functional response efforts to contain threats and minimize business impact.
  • Partner with enterprise architecture, infrastructure, application development, and business stakeholders to embed security across the organization.
  • Maintain the organization’s security posture in line with regulatory requirements and industry standards for financial institutions.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of information security experience, including at least 3 years leading security operations, incident response, or SOC teams.
  • Deep hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, threat intelligence, and security orchestration platforms.
  • Ability to communicate technical security issues to C-level executives and board members in business terms.
  • Track record of building security operations programs, processes, and teams from the ground up or through major transformation.
  • Proven ability to make high-stakes decisions quickly during active security incidents.
  • Experience influencing without authority, building consensus, and working effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience in regulated environments such as financial services, banking, or credit unions is strongly preferred.
  • MSP or consulting background is highly valued.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC are preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available.
