Description

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines into BigQuery across core business domains.
  • Build reliable orchestration patterns with retries, idempotency, backfills, SLAs/SLOs, and incident response practices.
  • Implement data quality, testing, monitoring, and observability frameworks for data systems.
  • Standardize CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code patterns for data engineering workflows and guide teams on best practices.
  • Lead modernization efforts, including legacy warehouse migrations to cloud lakehouse platforms and related upgrades.
  • Create and own curated, analytics-ready datasets and semantic-ready models for self-serve reporting.
  • Establish and enforce conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling standards.
  • Define the enterprise data architecture vision, including canonical models, domain boundaries, and integration patterns.
  • Lead architecture decisions across warehousing, lakehouse, streaming, MDM, and operational data platforms.
  • Partner with Security, Legal, Engineering, Analytics, and Product teams to define governance, privacy, compliance, and data contracts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Architecture, or Platform Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience designing enterprise-scale cloud data architectures on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Expertise in data warehousing, lakehouse architecture, distributed processing, streaming, and enterprise data modeling.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, and security architecture.
  • Experience leading cross-functional architecture initiatives.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and executives.
  • 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or Data Platform roles with significant production ownership (preferred).
  • Deep experience with GCP data services such as Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Cloud Functions/Run, Secret Manager, and IAM (preferred).
  • Industry certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect, or GCP Professional Architect (preferred).
