Description

  • Own the monthly close process and prepare accurate financial statements, including the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.
  • Manage revenue recognition under ASC 606 / IFRS 15, including deferred revenue, chargebacks, cancellations, and prior-period adjustments.
  • Oversee ChargeBee and Stripe billing operations and ensure subscription data flows correctly into the general ledger.
  • Manage the bookkeeper and oversee day-to-day bookkeeping, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger activity.
  • Maintain audit readiness and coordinate annual compliance with external tax advisors.
  • Build, maintain, and document internal controls, finance workflows, and repeatable runbooks.
  • Develop the annual budget, rolling forecasts, and scenario models to support investment and cost decisions.
  • Perform variance analysis and produce leadership reporting, dashboards, and subscription KPI reporting.
  • Partner with the CEO, VP of Operations, and department heads on financial planning, resource allocation, and strategic decisions.
  • Evaluate and improve financial tools and automate manual processes, including AI-assisted reconciliation and reporting.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with meaningful experience at a SaaS or subscription-based business.
  • Controller-level experience owning monthly close, revenue recognition, and financial statement preparation end-to-end.
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 606 or IFRS 15, deferred revenue, and subscription billing operations.
  • Experience with subscription billing platforms such as ChargeBee, Stripe, Recurly, or similar.
  • Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite.
  • Solid FP&A experience, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and building financial models from scratch.
  • Experience with consumer or self-serve subscription models, especially high-volume, low-ACV businesses.
  • Experience at a startup or high-growth company under $25M in revenue, operating in a generalist capacity.
  • Strong English communication skills and the ability to present financial insights to non-finance stakeholders.
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification, plus direct ChargeBee experience and comfort using AI tools for financial analysis are strong pluses.
