Description

  • Design and implement high-volume, fault-tolerant, scalable backend systems that process and manage petabytes of customer data.
  • Analyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of backend systems.
  • Write robust code and demonstrate its robustness through automated tests.
  • Collaborate as part of a team to respond quickly and effectively to business needs.
  • Help manage large-scale data infrastructure using technologies such as Kafka, Kubernetes, and Docker.

Requirements

  • BTech., B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of industry experience with a proven track record of ownership and delivery.
  • Object-oriented programming experience in Java, Scala, or C++.
  • Understanding of the performance characteristics of common data structures such as maps, lists, and trees.
  • Experience running large, scalable, distributed services in a microservice architecture.
  • Desire to learn Scala.
  • Experience with multithreaded programming and distributed systems is highly desirable.
  • Experience in big data and/or 24x7 commercial services is highly desirable.
  • Comfort working with Unix systems such as Linux or OS X.
  • Agile software development experience, including test-driven development and iterative, incremental development, is a plus.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States at time of hire and for the duration of employment; no nonimmigrant visa sponsorship is available.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary range of $141,000 to $165,000.
  • Eligibility for bonus or commission plans.
  • Equity awards for certain roles.
  • Benefits offerings as part of total compensation.
