Description

  • Process supplier invoices, employee expenses, customer invoices, and payments while supporting accounts payable and receivable.
  • Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries, bank and intercompany reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close schedules.
  • Support Spanish tax filings, including VAT (Modelo 303), withholding returns (Modelos 111 and 115), and corporate tax returns/payments (Modelos 202 and 200).
  • Support Spanish statutory accounting under PGC, including statutory books, annual accounts, and Commercial Registry submissions.
  • Maintain compliance calendars and records for tax filings, payments, invoices, and statutory submissions.
  • Prepare and reconcile applicable Modelo 349 and Modelo 347 declarations and support other information returns, including Modelos 190 and 180.
  • Assist with payroll accounting, IRPF withholding, and Social Security reconciliations alongside HR and payroll providers.
  • Support intercompany accounting, group reporting, audits, and information requests from external accountants, tax advisers, and auditors.
  • Use ERP/accounting systems and Excel to maintain accurate financial records, master data, and reporting schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience; experience supporting a Spanish entity is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Spanish PGC, general ledger accounting, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and financial close.
  • Practical exposure to Spanish VAT, corporate income tax, withholding taxes, and applicable Modelo declarations.
  • Familiarity with Spanish statutory books, annual accounts, and tax and invoicing compliance requirements.
  • Experience using an accounting or ERP system and strong Excel skills.
  • Fluent Spanish and good English communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, confidentiality, and ability to collaborate across countries.
  • Experience with SII, electronic invoicing requirements, and Spanish compliance developments (preferred).
  • Exposure to intercompany reconciliations, cross-border transactions, group reporting, statutory/tax audits, or AEAT requests (preferred).
