Description

  • Support the team in delivering high technical quality and impact across APIs, user-facing experiences, services, and systems.
  • Recruit, hire, scale, and develop a strong engineering team.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership, product teams, infrastructure teams, and risk strategists.
  • Contribute to strategic direction and platform decisions that affect Stripe and its customers.
  • Build relationships with customers internally and externally.
  • Champion Stripe’s vision for risk management as a merchant-attracting product differentiator.
  • Partner with teams across Stripe to improve the merchant experience.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of engineering management experience.
  • Prior experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or equivalent.
  • Experience managing teams that collaborate with product teams and respond rapidly to customer needs.
  • Experience building technology and capabilities that are strategic and foundational in nature.
  • Comfort designing, measuring, and improving user experience.
  • Ability to plan in quarters and set a vision several years ahead.
  • Comfort working with geographically distributed teams and remote workers.
  • Preferred: empathy for customer needs combined with a strong product vision.
  • Preferred: experience leading teams through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Preferred: ability to work at both tactical and long-term strategic levels.
