Description

  • Partner with Product, Finance, Payments, Security, Risk, Growth, and Go-to-Market teams on data science initiatives.
  • Build machine learning, statistical, and causal inference models to support business and product decisions.
  • Run and analyze experiments to measure impact and optimize outcomes.
  • Use analytics to understand user needs, prevent fraud, optimize charge flows, forecast outcomes, and quantify risk exposure.
  • Design growth experiments, optimize marketing investments, refine sales processes, and estimate causal effects.
  • Synthesize complex analyses into actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Help optimize systems and leverage data to drive strategic business decisions.
  • Work across different parts of Stripe’s business, with team alignment based on your background.

Requirements

  • PhD + 3 years, MS/MA + 6 years, or BS/BA + 8 years of data science or quantitative modeling experience.
  • Proficiency in SQL and a computing language such as Python or R.
  • Hands-on experience in one or more of the following: machine learning, statistics, optimization, product analytics, causal inference, and experimentation.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver results.
  • Ability to communicate results clearly and focus on driving impact.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver multiple projects with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong business acumen and experience turning complex analyses into actionable recommendations.
  • A builder’s mindset with willingness to question assumptions and conventional wisdom.
  • Preferred: Experience deploying models in production and adjusting model thresholds to improve performance.
  • Preferred: Experience designing, running, and analyzing complex experiments or using causal inference designs.
  • Preferred: Experience with distributed tools such as Spark or Hadoop.
  • Preferred: A PhD or MS in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Quantitative Finance, Sciences, or Operations Research.
