Description

  • Design, build, test, and ship high-quality code across technologies, systems, and processes.
  • Build excellent customer experiences for both internal and external Stripe teams that consume infrastructure.
  • Participate in roadmap planning and prioritization for infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with multiple customers and stakeholders across Stripe to deliver measurable value.
  • Debug and resolve production issues across services and multiple layers of the stack.
  • Work on foundational platform areas such as Compute, Networking, DocumentDB, Distributed Caching, Developer Infrastructure, Data Platform, Admin Platform, Support Experience, and Service Platform.
  • Drive reliability, scalability, performance, efficiency, and cost improvements for infrastructure systems.

Requirements

  • Strong software engineering skills and a passion for one or more infrastructure areas listed in the description.
  • Ability to write high-quality code in languages such as Go, Java, or C/C++.
  • 2–12+ years of professional hands-on software development experience, with experience writing well-factored algorithms and using common data structures and algorithms.
  • Hands-on experience contributing to or building large-scale distributed systems.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work across workstreams and contribute to peers’ success.
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to articulate and represent customer experience to influence outcomes.
  • Ability to thrive with high autonomy and responsibility and an entrepreneurial approach to work.
  • Preferred: experience optimizing end-to-end performance of distributed systems.
  • Preferred: experience with data serving technologies and open-source tools such as Trino/Presto, Apache Pinot, Hive Metastore, and Elasticsearch.
  • Preferred: holds self and others to a high bar for production readiness and operational excellence.
