Description

  • Design, build, and maintain Android apps and SDKs in Kotlin.
  • Develop Android payment applications for a variety of devices and form factors.
  • Build and enhance the Device Platform, including applications and services that run on Stripe Terminal physical devices.
  • Create frameworks and tools to make it easier for internal and external engineers to develop on Stripe’s custom platform.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, user researchers, and stakeholders to define and deliver new features and products.
  • Partner with Android developers across Stripe to set and propagate best practices for Android development.
  • Use user research and product design insights to understand user needs and improve developer and consumer experiences.

Requirements

  • 2–6 years of experience in Android development and a strong technical background.
  • Experience developing Android apps and SDKs in Kotlin.
  • Ability to listen, internalize ideas from across the organization, and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Preference for simple, scalable designs and good intuition for lasting solutions.
  • Ability to empathize with users and act as a steward of great developer and consumer experiences.
  • Custom Android hardware experience (preferred).
  • Payments domain knowledge or expertise (preferred).
  • Backend infrastructure or services experience (preferred).
  • Based in or able to work in the PST time zone (preferred).
