Description

  • Lead small multidisciplinary teams to design, build, and test RF hardware systems, primarily field-deployable prototypes intended for transition to low-volume production.
  • Define system goals, performance objectives, metrics, dependencies, and risks to guide engineering work.
  • Lead RF hardware design activities, including directing engineers on drawings, parts selection, and specifications for antennas, positioners, cables, transceiver assemblies, amplifiers, filters, and related components.
  • Lead integration and testing of complete RF systems, including antennas, feeds, waveguides, positioners, processing hardware, and system control software.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software and firmware developers, systems engineers, and test engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Perform trade studies and architecture analyses to support requirements development, derivation, and verification.
  • Develop component and system test plans and lead testing to verify compliance with requirements and document system performance.
  • Conduct over-the-air demonstrations and define readiness, test architecture, metrics, data management, operational procedures, and performance reporting.
  • Work with the signal processing team to develop test concepts and methods and validate system performance through simulations and real-world testing.
  • Prepare design documentation, specifications, test plans, reports, and customer or management briefings.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience with RF components and subsystems, including T/R modules, rotary joints, antennas, positioners, filters, radiating structures, isolators, amplifiers, ADCs/DACs, and system signal processing, calibration, and control software.
  • Experience developing requirements and verification plans for complex systems and subsystems.
  • Experience with RF system, subsystem, and/or component analysis such as frequency planning, link budget analysis, transceiver architectures, and cascade analysis.
  • RF testing and characterization experience from component to system level.
  • Experience leading teams that integrate and test RF systems, including front-end hardware, back-end hardware, and software.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python and/or other higher-level languages.
  • Strong mathematical, troubleshooting, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred: Active Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI clearance.
  • Preferred: Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Preferred: Experience with RF sensing and electronic warfare applications, EM field solvers such as ANSYS HFSS or Sonnet, RF integrated circuits, high-power RF design, and automated or semi-automated digital and RF test set development.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of mechanical design, software development, C/C++, EMI/EMC design and debugging, and FPGA hardware inference designs.
  • Preferred: Background in designing for manufacturability, producibility, and cost constraints.
  • Preferred: Ability to create and present technical briefings to customers and senior management.

Benefits

  • Full-time salary range of $160,000 to $220,000.
  • Compensation based on experience, education, training, key skills, security clearances, and market conditions.
  • Opportunity for career growth within a fast-paced and rapidly expanding company.
