Description

Lead the design and implementation of facility electrical systems from concept through commissioning.
Own the design, development, integration, and validation of electrical systems for the facility.
Design and specify high-, medium-, and low-voltage power distribution systems.
Define electrical system architecture, including redundancy, backup power, and safety strategies.
Perform and review power system studies such as load flow, short-circuit, and coordination analysis.
Generate and review electrical documentation, including single-line diagrams, load lists, specifications, and cable schedules.
Lead integration of electrical systems with control systems such as PLC, DCS, and HMI.
Develop grounding, bonding, and lightning protection strategies.
Support procurement, installation, and commissioning activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on facility design, process engineering, controls engineering, equipment design, licensing, layout, constructability, and maintainability.
Generate technical documentation supporting regulatory and licensing efforts.
Serve as the electrical technical lead across lifecycle stages from early concept through operations.

Requirements

Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
10+ years of experience designing and deploying industrial or facility-scale electrical systems.
Demonstrated ownership of electrical system design through multiple project phases, from concept through commissioning.
Experience in nuclear, fuel cycle, or similarly regulated industrial environments (preferred).
Deep experience in power systems design, including switchgear, transformers, and protection systems (preferred).
Expertise in power system analysis, including load flow, short-circuit, and coordination studies (preferred).
Experience integrating electrical and controls systems such as PLC, DCS, and HMI (preferred).
Commissioning and startup experience in complex facilities (preferred).
Ability to work in ambiguous, early-stage environments and drive work independently.
Ability to think at the system level and propose creative technical solutions.
Strong verbal communication and excellent writing skills.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, highly iterative startup environment.
Must meet U.S. person requirements for export control eligibility.
Willingness to travel to Oklo headquarters in Santa Clara, CA twice per quarter, with the first two weeks of onboarding in person.
