Description

  • Lead small multidisciplinary teams to design, build, and test RF hardware systems and field-deployable prototypes.
  • Define goals, system performance objectives, metrics, dependencies, and risks to guide engineering work.
  • Lead RF system design activities, including selecting parts and components and writing specifications for antennas, positioners, cables, transceiver assemblies, amplifiers, filters, and related hardware.
  • Lead integration and test of complete RF systems, including hardware, software control, waveform processing, calibration, health/status functions, and user interfaces.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, firmware, systems, and test engineers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Conduct performance trade studies and architecture analyses and help derive, develop, and verify system requirements.
  • Develop component and system test plans and lead testing to verify compliance and document performance.
  • Conduct over-the-air demonstrations, including planning test architecture, readiness, metrics, data management, procedures, and reporting.
  • Work with signal processing teams to develop test concepts and methods.
  • Perform simulation-based and real-world performance analysis to validate system behavior and identify subsystem improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare documentation, design specifications, test plans, and reports.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience working with RF components and subsystems.
  • Experience with T/R modules, rotary joints, antennas, positioners, filters, radiating structures, isolators, amplifiers, ADCs/DACs, and system signal processing, calibration, and control software.
  • Experience developing requirements and verification plans for complex systems and subsystems.
  • Experience with RF system, subsystem, and/or component analysis, including frequency planning, link budget analysis, transceiver architectures, and cascade analysis.
  • RF testing and characterization experience from component to system level.
  • Experience leading teams for integration and test of RF systems, including front-end hardware, back-end hardware, and software.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python and/or other higher-level languages.
  • Strong mathematical, troubleshooting, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Active Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI clearance preferred.
  • Local to Woburn, MA preferred.
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • Experience with RF sensing and electronic warfare applications, including electronic attack, electronic protection, cognitive EW, radar, and advanced ESM techniques preferred.
  • Experience with EM field solvers such as ANSYS HFSS or Sonnet preferred.
  • Experience translating mission needs into an end-to-end analytical solution while working with decision-makers and customers preferred.
  • Experience with RF integrated circuits and RF transceiver building blocks such as power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers, oscillators, mixers, and filters preferred.
  • Experience with high-power RF design and testing preferred.
  • Experience developing automated or semi-automated digital and RF test sets preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design preferred.
  • Knowledge of software development, integration, and C/C++ and Python preferred.
  • Knowledge of designing and debugging to EMI/EMC requirements preferred.
  • Knowledge of FPGA hardware inference designs preferred.
  • Background in designing for manufacturability, producibility, and cost constraints preferred.
  • Ability to apply novel, innovative, and interdisciplinary approaches to challenging engineering problems preferred.
  • Ability to create and present briefings to customers and senior management preferred.

Benefits

  • Full-time salary range of $160,000 to $220,000.
