Description

  • Provide administrative oversight and evaluation across all construction disciplines.
  • Review construction activities for compliance with contract documents, codes, and VA standards.
  • Analyze contractor work to identify deficiencies, inconsistencies, and non-conforming conditions.
  • Support preparation and review of construction documents, plans, and specifications.
  • Monitor project budgets, obligations, and expenditures and review contractor pay applications to validate progress.
  • Assist with preparation, evaluation, and documentation of change orders and cost proposals.
  • Maintain and review project schedules, identify risks and delays, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation (RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, logs, correspondence) and prepare reports for leadership and contracting personnel.
  • Participate in weekly progress meetings, coordinate communication among contractors, government personnel, and project teams, and help resolve project issues.
  • Conduct site inspections, track deficiencies, support testing/inspection processes, and evaluate construction impacts on active medical center operations and phasing plans.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required (eligible for federal background investigation and VA PIV badge).
  • Ability to pass a federal background investigation and obtain a VA PIV badge.
  • Minimum of 3 years of construction experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting construction administration activities (RFIs, submittals, change orders, documentation).
  • Working knowledge of construction practices, QA/QC, scheduling, and cost control.
  • Experience reviewing contractor work and identifying deficiencies relative to construction documents.
  • Familiarity with general contractor and subcontractor operations.
  • Understanding of baseline schedules and progress tracking and ability to support analysis of cost, schedule, and performance data.
  • Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
