Description

  • Answer inbound patient calls professionally and serve as the first point of contact.
  • Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel new patient and follow-up appointments.
  • Collect and update patient demographic and insurance information.
  • Complete patient registration and intake and ensure records are accurate before visits.
  • Respond to patient questions about appointments, insurance coverage, and office procedures.
  • Route patient messages and concerns to the appropriate team members.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for upcoming appointments.
  • Confirm copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and coverage limitations.
  • Determine whether prior authorization is required and document requirements for the clinical team.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document communications in MD Land EMR.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical receptionist, medical administrative, patient care coordinator, or similar healthcare administrative role.
  • Experience handling high-volume inbound patient calls.
  • Strong appointment scheduling and patient intake experience.
  • Extensive insurance verification experience.
  • Knowledge of insurance eligibility, copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and authorization requirements.
  • Excellent English communication skills with a professional phone presence.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
  • Experience using MD Land EMR (preferred).
  • Experience using Availity and NaviNet, gastroenterology or internal medicine experience, and bilingual English/Spanish ability (preferred).

Benefits

  • Full-time contractor position (40 hours per week).
  • Negotiable pay rate based on skillset and experience.
  • Monday through Friday schedule.
  • 8 AM to 5 PM EST schedule.
