Description

  • Design and build the test automation framework and the standards other engineers will follow.
  • Write and maintain automated tests across API, integration, and end-to-end UI layers.
  • Prioritize automation based on risk and value, emphasizing fast and reliable API-level tests where possible.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD so they run on every change and provide fast feedback.
  • Reduce test flakiness and maintain a trustworthy, maintainable automation suite.
  • Evaluate and apply AI-assisted testing tools for test generation, self-healing, failure triage, and edge-case discovery.
  • Review AI-generated tests and code critically as the human-in-the-loop.
  • Mentor other engineers on automation practices and help raise testing quality across squads.
  • Work closely with the QA Engineering Manager and developers across product squads.
  • Shape testing patterns for a new team and influence how the organization tests.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in software test automation or software engineering with a strong testing focus.
  • Strong coding skills in at least one of the following: Python, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
  • Deep experience with a modern automation framework such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium, including building or owning a framework.
  • Solid API testing experience with tools such as Postman or REST Assured, plus comfort with SQL and database validation.
  • Hands-on experience integrating tests into CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
  • Working knowledge of AWS and Docker.
  • A pragmatic, risk-based mindset and good judgment about what is worth automating.
  • Experience using AI coding assistants or AI test-generation tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Cursor.
  • Comfort writing effective prompts to generate test ideas, edge cases, and failure analysis.
  • Familiarity with Claude and Claude Code is preferred.
  • Experience setting up test automation from scratch on a team with little prior automation is preferred.
  • Performance testing experience with k6 or JMeter, or exposure to security testing, is preferred.
  • Experience in a regulated or high-reliability domain such as utilities, fintech, or healthcare is preferred.
  • Verified LinkedIn profile and background/identity verification are expected for final candidates as part of the hiring process.
