Description

  • Conduct research in music generation using diffusion, flow matching, autoregressive models, and related methods.
  • Explore related areas such as ML-based audio processing, music information retrieval, machine learning, and signal processing.
  • Run large-scale experiments using Spotify’s infrastructure and access to a global audience of more than 700 million monthly active users.
  • Develop practical applications that use generative technologies to create new listening experiences.
  • Collaborate with scientists, engineers, product managers, designers, user researchers, and analysts on cross-functional problem solving.
  • Contribute research that has a direct impact on Spotify’s products, tools, and services.
  • Publish findings, give talks, and participate in top research conferences.
  • Help shape products that support artist-fan connection and artist-first AI experiences.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Previous industry experience is helpful.
  • Experience in one or more of: generative modeling, machine learning, music information retrieval, speech processing, audio processing, signal processing, probabilistic modeling, computer vision, or related areas.
  • Publications in venues such as ICASSP, ISMIR, INTERSPEECH, ICLR, AAAI, IJCAI, NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, ECCV, or ICCV, or related conferences.
  • Strong coding skills in Python, PyTorch, and NumPy.
  • Ability to explain complex topics in simple terms.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Passion for building products that create value for millions of people.
  • Interest in turning research ideas into products that operate at scale.
  • Ability to work within the EMEA region and collaborate during CET/GMT core hours.
