Description

Build and maintain backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and frontend interfaces across the stack.
Improve metadata matching between WhoSampled’s database and Spotify’s catalog using ML-assisted approaches.
Work on entity resolution and LLM-powered disambiguation to surface more of WhoSampled’s archive within Spotify.
Lead infrastructure modernisation to make WhoSampled more robust and scalable.
Collaborate closely with Spotify platform and security stakeholders on infrastructure and operational work.
Design, build, ship, and operate systems with end-to-end ownership of reliability and performance.
Bring AI tooling into engineering workflows for data quality, matching, automation, and developer productivity.
Contribute within Spotify’s infrastructure patterns while helping shape the future of the WhoSampled product.

Requirements

Strong experience building production software.
Depth in at least two of the following areas: backend services, frontend web, data systems, or infrastructure.
Strong Python skills, ideally with Django experience.
Experience with Java.
Production experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design and query tuning.
Familiarity with Elasticsearch is a plus.
Modern web application experience with TypeScript and React.
Experience shipping user-facing features, not just prototypes.
Comfort with Linux, GCP or equivalent cloud platforms, and networking fundamentals.
Ability to work across languages and stacks, handle ambiguity, and make well-reasoned decisions with limited oversight.
