Description

  • Champion and implement security best practices, standards, and automated tooling for secure development and deployment across Spotify’s infrastructure.
  • Partner with engineering teams to integrate security throughout the development lifecycle, from ideation through deployment and monitoring.
  • Consult with, evangelize to, and teach teams on theoretical and practical security topics across different disciplines and experience levels.
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives to improve the security of Spotify’s engineering ecosystem and products.
  • Conduct threat modeling, security reviews, and risk assessments for generative AI and non-AI systems.
  • Evaluate, prototype, and integrate security tools for AI/ML systems.
  • Stay current on AI security threats, academic research, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies relevant to Spotify’s scale.
  • Contribute to security incident response activities involving AI systems.
  • Represent security in engineering and business contexts and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Hands-on technical experience in software security.
  • Ability to write code to integrate security tools and automate work using modern software development practices.
  • Security expertise in one or more domains such as backend, mobile, web, or machine learning.
  • Strong foundation in cryptography, cloud security, and application security.
  • Ability to communicate security concepts to diverse, non-expert audiences.
  • Experience working in agile environments and adapting to change.
  • Ability to read and write code in languages such as Java, Python, Scala, C++, or TypeScript.
  • Experience using generative AI tools for common software engineering tasks.
  • Good understanding of security risks, attack vectors, and vulnerabilities specific to AI/ML systems, and how to mitigate them.
  • Demonstrable experience with security research on AI/ML systems and applications.
  • Experience integrating security tooling into production systems at scale.
  • Familiarity with common agentic AI frameworks.
