Description

Write feature stories on athletes, coaches, games, and program milestones.
Produce blog posts, newsletters, and SEO-driven articles that attract qualified families.
Write landing page copy, ad campaigns, email sequences, and social captions.
Interview athletes, coaches, and families and turn quotes into clear, on-brand writing.
Own the editorial calendar and maintain a consistent content cadence.
Coordinate with video and marketing teams to align writing with broader campaigns.
Track content performance and use results to improve future stories and campaigns.

Requirements

Portfolio of published writing spanning features, content marketing, and copywriting.
Ability to write long-form features, newsletters, and landing page copy in the same week.
Experience covering youth sports, college athletics, professional sports, or other sports-focused audiences.
Strong editorial judgment and ability to identify and shape the story from interviews.
Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals, hooks, headlines, and action-oriented copywriting.
Daily use of AI tools as a research, editing, and drafting aid; familiarity with Perplexity Computer and Claude is a plus.
Quiet home workspace, strong internet, working webcam, and microphone.
Availability during standard U.S. business hours, with Central Time preferred.
Remote U.S.-only role with U.S. work authorization required.
Bonus: journalism or editorial background, athlete or coaching background, and experience with WordPress, Webflow, HubSpot, Mailchimp, or similar CMS/email tools.
