Description

  • Design and implement enterprise storage and backup architectures aligned with availability, recovery, capacity, security, and business requirements.
  • Administer storage arrays, SAN fabrics, and backup platforms, including provisioning, host integration, backup configuration, retention policies, and replication.
  • Plan and execute installations, upgrades, migrations, capacity expansions, and proof-of-concept deployments.
  • Monitor system health, performance, capacity, and backup success, resolving bottlenecks and implementing improvements.
  • Provide Tier 3 incident, problem, and service-request support; lead root-cause analyses and corrective actions.
  • Perform data restores and recovery testing and support disaster-recovery exercises.
  • Apply security controls, hardening standards, and approved configuration changes under change-management procedures.
  • Develop scripts and tools to automate provisioning, monitoring, reporting, and routine operations.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on maintenance, interoperability, upgrades, and complex issues.
  • Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, configuration records, and recovery procedures; participate in on-call and maintenance coverage as required.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of IT experience managing and configuring enterprise storage, backup, and related services in complex heterogeneous environments.
  • Hands-on administration and troubleshooting experience with block and file storage platforms, such as NetApp, Dell PowerStore, and Dell ECS.
  • Experience installing and administering enterprise backup solutions, such as Dell Avamar, PPDM, Data Domain, and Veeam Backup & Replication.
  • Expert-level storage and backup troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of Cisco or Brocade fabric switches, VSANs, WWPNs, NPIV, multipathing, Fibre Channel, and iSCSI.
  • Strong knowledge of data protection, disaster recovery, backup, and storage-management best practices.
  • Knowledge of networking technologies and ITIL service-management methodology.
  • Experience with shell scripting and automation tools, such as Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure with a customer-focused approach.
  • Experience with hyperconverged infrastructure, software-defined storage, cloud storage, virtualization, service reporting, or business analytics is preferred.
