Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust public and internal APIs, including TTS, payment, subscription, authentication, and consumption tracking services.
  • Own and optimize the backend API landscape for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Build and support backend services that meet business requirements and scale with the platform.
  • Collaborate on B2B solutions for enterprise customization and integrations.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience.
  • Contribute to product decisions in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment.
  • Help deliver backend systems across Speechify’s text-to-speech product ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in backend development with TypeScript/Node.js (required).
  • Direct experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact and execute efficiently from idea to implementation.
  • Experience with Docker and containerized deployments (preferred).
  • Experience deploying high-availability applications on Kubernetes (preferred).
  • Strong communication skills and solid work ethic.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, flat, fully distributed organization.
