Description

  • Lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications.
  • Define and enforce best practices for code architecture, performance, memory usage, UI responsiveness, cross-version compatibility, and maintainability.
  • Drive accessibility implementation and validation across Windows UI, including keyboard navigation, screen-reader support, and usability for users with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and other stakeholders on feature planning and Windows platform roadmap decisions.
  • Own features end-to-end from conception and design through implementation, testing, release, and maintenance.
  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, rendering issues, and compatibility problems.
  • Make architecture-level decisions and contribute to long-term technical direction for the Windows product.
  • Mentor other engineers and conduct code reviews as part of technical leadership.
  • Support feature quality and consistency across releases.
  • Contribute to building polished, intuitive, and accessible user experiences.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Windows desktop application development using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, and XAML.
  • Additional experience with native Windows technologies such as C++, Win32, WinRT, or COM is ideal.
  • Deep understanding of Windows application architecture, including interop between managed .NET code and native code.
  • Proven experience designing, building, and shipping production-quality desktop applications.
  • Strong experience with accessibility APIs on Windows, such as Microsoft UI Automation or similar.
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals, including OOP, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, memory management, and multithreading or asynchronous programming.
  • Experience leading technical design, mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and making architecture-level decisions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and drive consensus.
  • A user-centric mindset with a focus on polished, intuitive, and accessible experiences.
  • Preferred experience with automated UI testing, including unit tests, integration tests, or UI automation tests.
  • Preferred experience with desktop app performance optimization, including startup time, memory usage, rendering, high-DPI support, and responsiveness under load.
  • Preferred experience with localization, globalization, right-to-left UI support, and internationalization.
  • Preferred familiarity with telemetry, analytics, crash reporting, logging, and error monitoring.
  • Preferred experience shaping CI/CD workflows, release pipelines, and deployment strategies for desktop applications.
  • Preferred experience owning feature areas or modules long term, including maintenance, refactoring, and technical debt management.
