Description

Lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications.
Define and enforce best practices for code architecture, performance, memory usage, UI responsiveness, cross-version compatibility, and maintainability.
Drive accessibility efforts by integrating and validating support for Windows accessibility APIs and inclusive UI behaviors.
Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and other stakeholders on feature planning and Windows platform roadmap.
Own features end-to-end from conception and design through implementation, testing, release, and maintenance.
Diagnose and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, rendering issues, and compatibility problems.
Propose robust architectural and design solutions for long-term product quality and reliability.
Mentor other engineers, conduct code reviews, and contribute to architecture-level decisions.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in Windows desktop application development using Windows App SDK, WinUI or similar frameworks, C#, and XAML.
Ideally additional experience with native Windows code such as C++, Win32, WinRT, or COM.
Deep understanding of Windows application architecture, including interoperability between managed .NET code and native code.
Proven experience designing, building, and shipping production-quality desktop applications.
Strong experience with Windows accessibility APIs such as Microsoft UI Automation or similar frameworks.
Excellent software engineering fundamentals, including OOP, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, memory management, and multithreading or asynchronous programming.
Experience leading technical design, mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and making architecture-level decisions.
Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate tradeoffs and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
User-centric mindset focused on polished, intuitive, and accessible experiences.
Preferred: experience writing automated UI tests, including unit, integration, and UI automation tests.
Preferred: experience optimizing desktop app performance, including startup time, memory usage, rendering, high-DPI support, and responsiveness under load.
Preferred: experience with localization, globalization, right-to-left UI support, and internationalization.
Preferred: familiarity with telemetry, analytics, crash reporting, logging, and error monitoring.
Preferred: experience shaping CI/CD workflows, release pipelines, and deployment strategies for desktop applications.
Preferred: demonstrated ownership of feature areas or modules, including maintenance, refactoring, and technical debt management.
