Description

  • Design, implement, test, and maintain physical and MAC layer software for the Starlink wireless software stack.
  • Participate in architecting current and next-generation Starlink hardware and signal processing algorithms.
  • Support hardware bring-up, debugging, verification, and launch activities.
  • Work with other teams on cross-layer integration of the end-to-end system.
  • Develop prototypes to validate design concepts and quantify technical constraints.
  • Collaborate with engineers to plan and organize product development.
  • Own software through the full lifecycle, including development, testing, and support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a STEM discipline, or 2+ years of professional software engineering experience with C or C++ in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience working with wireless software or network protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of wireless communications, signal processing, or network protocols (preferred).
  • Knowledge of RF systems fundamentals such as noise figure, link budget, and non-linearity (preferred).
  • Experience writing software for RF/mixed-signal integrated circuits or systems such as PLLs, mixers, data-converters, or RF attenuators (preferred).
  • Familiarity with digital signal processing algorithms and techniques such as FFT, equalization, channel estimation, pilot tracking, digital pre-distortion, and doppler compensation (preferred).
  • Experience with lab equipment such as RF spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes (preferred).
  • Experience in physical and/or MAC layers in broadband access technologies such as Wi-Fi, LTE, 5G, or satellite broadband (preferred).
  • Strong debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing skills (preferred).
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $135,000-$155,000 for Software Engineer/Level I and $155,000-$185,000 for Software Engineer/Level II.
