Description

  • Support destructive and non-destructive failure analyses across development, pre-production, qualification, and flight hardware life cycles.
  • Assist engineering teams with rework and recovery efforts for non-conforming hardware.
  • Analyze piece part failures and other non-conforming material.
  • Support First Article Inspection Reports.
  • Provide surge support for critical company analyses and qualification test efforts.
  • Work directly in the Failure Analysis laboratory to evaluate failures observed in production.
  • Help determine the quality of the manufacturing process and support investigations into nonconforming product.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in material science, electrical engineering, physics, or another STEM discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in semiconductor, package, and/or PCBA reliability.
  • 4+ years of work experience in failure analysis on semiconductor packages and devices.
  • Master's degree in material science or an advanced degree in a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in semiconductor, package, and/or PCBA reliability preferred.
  • 7+ years of work experience in failure analysis on semiconductor packages and devices preferred.
  • Experience with non-destructive analysis techniques such as Visual Inspection, X-Ray, CT scan, SEM, CSAM, and curve tracing preferred.
  • Experience with destructive analysis techniques such as Cross Section, Parallel Lapping and Polishing, dye and pry, and chemical decapsulation preferred.
  • Experience with semiconductor analysis techniques such as OBIRCH, photo emission analysis, and thermal emission analysis preferred.
  • Understanding of basic electronic theory, electrical troubleshooting experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted, work in tight spaces, use power tools and hand tools, and handle corrosive chemicals with proper PPE.
  • Ability to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or otherwise eligible under ITAR requirements.

Benefits

  • Senior pay range of $135,000 to $195,000 per year.
  • 10% differential, up to an additional $20,000 annually, for employees with an active clearance once briefed into a classified program.
