Description

  • Develop manufacturing and integration processes for Raptor engine components and assemblies.
  • Conceptualize, demonstrate, and implement manufacturing processes that support high-rate production targets.
  • Collaborate with design and development engineers to improve manufacturability and reliability of engine hardware.
  • Introduce and implement new products and product revisions across development and production.
  • Own production-line considerations including process consistency, quality, tooling, capital equipment, ergonomics, and safety.
  • Lead root cause investigations across development, production, test, integration, and launch, and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate peers through informal leadership and self-directed program organization to achieve execution goals.
  • Interface with internal fabrication shops and external vendors to meet production goals.
  • Work with production teams to ensure hardware is delivered on time or ahead of schedule.
  • Provide input into vehicle architecture trades and support design and flight readiness efforts on Starship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 1+ years of experience with engine, fluid, or system design, development, fabrication, assembly, or test; internship or project team experience is applicable.
  • Experience working with liquid rocket engines, spacecraft systems, and/or pressurized fluid systems preferred.
  • Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and taking products through development, testing, and production preferred.
  • Understanding of fluid systems, solid mechanics, and/or electrical systems preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, leadership, and project management skills preferred.
  • Effective communication of technical concepts across multidisciplinary teams preferred.
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills preferred.
  • Ability and desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, team environment preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or otherwise eligible for required U.S. State Department export authorization.

  • Base salary of $100,000-$115,000 for Level I or $110,000-$135,000 for Level II, depending on experience and qualifications.
