Description

  • Develop highly reliable and performant GNC algorithms, flight software, simulations, tools, and services using C++ or Python.
  • Conduct analyses and recommend designs that balance competing requirements.
  • Build software tools and construct scenarios to analyze system performance.
  • Write high-quality technical documentation for programs, algorithms, and analyses.
  • Develop software models of payload operation and performance.
  • Support on-call operations and keep ground and vehicle software operating at peak performance.
  • Contribute to beam planning and algorithm development for payloads through initial conception to on-orbit operation.
  • Drive hardware design decisions and optimize payload performance through modeling and simulation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, computer science/software engineering, or another engineering discipline.
  • Software development experience in C++ or Python.
  • Master's degree or PhD in physics or an engineering discipline preferred.
  • Experience verifying GNC algorithm performance through simulation and validating simulation models preferred.
  • Experience simulating satellite payload performance preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience developing state estimation algorithms or optimization preferred.
  • Experience with RF preferred.
  • Linux development experience preferred.
  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems with little to no supervision.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, demanding startup environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed to support critical development and on-orbit operations.
  • Must meet ITAR requirements as a U.S. citizen/national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or otherwise eligible for required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $125,000-$150,000 for GNC Engineer Level I and $145,000-$175,000 for Level II.
  • Active clearance differential of 10%, up to an additional $20,000 annually, once briefed into a classified program.
