Description

  • Design ASICs and/or FPGAs for Starlink projects, including complex SoC blocks and SoC integration using Verilog/SystemVerilog.
  • Optimize designs for power, performance, and area.
  • Participate in the full ASIC/FPGA design lifecycle from concept and architecture through microarchitecture, partitioning, backend collaboration, lab bring-up, and validation.
  • Build physical and digital tools to analyze data collected on orbit and in the lab to improve designs.
  • Develop high-level test system architecture to support FPGA/ASIC validation, generational interoperability, and integration with DSP/communications subsystems.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to develop production software for the designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics.
  • 1+ years of RTL design experience using SystemVerilog, Verilog, or VHDL.
  • ASIC/FPGA system integration experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Python, C/C++, and Bash preferred.
  • Experience designing DSP, digital communication system datapath blocks, and/or modem design preferred.
  • Experience with EDA tools such as HDL simulators (VCS, Questa, IES), HDL lint tools (Spyglass), and FPGA tools (Xilinx Vivado, Altera Quartus II) preferred.
  • Experience and understanding of AXI, AHB, and APB protocols preferred.
  • Strong electrical engineering fundamentals preferred.
  • Experience debugging complex PCB systems with microprocessors and FPGAs in the lab using oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers preferred.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements.
  • Team-player mindset with the ability to contribute both independently and in a group environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly cross-functional role.
  • Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to work extended hours or weekends as needed for mission-critical deadlines.
  • Must meet ITAR requirements and be a U.S. citizen/national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or otherwise eligible for required U.S. Department of State authorization.

  • Base salary of $125,000-$145,000 for Level I or $140,000-$175,000 for Level II, depending on experience and level.
