Description

  • Develop highly reliable software solutions used across SpaceX.
  • Create new applications that improve how SpaceX operates.
  • Build prototypes to validate design concepts and quantify technical constraints.
  • Own all aspects of software engineering and product development.
  • Deep dive into user problems to develop efficient solutions.
  • Collaborate on architecture, design, and code reviews.
  • Work closely with engineers across the company to update systems supporting launches, Starship flights, and Starlink network changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a scientific discipline, or 2+ years of professional software development experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience in full stack development.
  • Programming experience in Python, C#.NET, Go, Scala, Java, or a similar object-oriented language.
  • 1+ years of experience building single-page web applications.
  • Experience with version control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery concepts.
  • Expertise in designing software systems.
  • Strong understanding of testing, continuous integration, build, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Experience profiling and improving application performance.
  • Experience with build systems such as Make, Bazel/Pants/Buck, or Gradle and package management tools such as pip or npm.
  • Experience with UNIX-like operating systems and infrastructure tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
  • Experience with streaming data technologies such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
  • Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Front-end experience with Angular, React, or a similar JavaScript framework.
  • Database experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar technologies.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • Must meet ITAR eligibility requirements as a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or otherwise eligible for required U.S. Department of State authorization.
