Description

  • Write clean, readable, and testable code for backend systems.
  • Participate in code reviews and architecture or design discussions.
  • Build product features on a reliable, performant distributed backend platform.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to help keep the site available.
  • Own backend features or services in production.
  • Monitor production systems and respond quickly to issues.
  • Troubleshoot bugs and implement fixes to improve uptime and reliability.
  • Address root causes of incidents and recurring system issues.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of experience as a backend engineer in product companies.
  • Experience writing high-quality code.
  • Strong knowledge of any coding language.
  • Ability to pick up new languages quickly.
  • Ability to think analytically and approach problems from first principles.
  • Ability to debug issues and identify root causes.
  • Experience in distributed backend systems (preferred implied by the role).
