Description

  • Establish and execute design vision for team initiatives using a design thinking process.
  • Develop user-centered design solutions grounded in research, member insights, and industry best practices.
  • Drive innovation, challenge the status quo, and inspire cross-functional teams toward unified outcomes.
  • Work across the full product lifecycle—shaping vision and strategy, specifying designs for engineering, and ensuring successful execution.
  • Collaborate closely with Research, Product Management, and Engineering to iterate and advance programs.
  • Align with other product designers to ensure consistency and cohesion across the larger SoFi ecosystem.
  • Create system maps, user flows, prototypes, and page-level specifications to communicate design decisions.
  • Work with design systems teams to leverage and improve templates and components.
  • Prototype user experiences to validate ideas with stakeholders and end users and to drive internal alignment.
  • Mentor and help grow more junior designers and contribute to scaling design best practices across the organization.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in product design or UX roles.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners to define product strategy.
  • Strong understanding of when and how to use metrics to inform design and measure success.
  • Experience using design thinking tools (e.g., design sprints) to align stakeholders around business and user needs.
  • Proficiency in standard design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Expertise in mobile and web UX best practices across iOS, Android, and responsive web.
  • Strong collaboration skills across Research, Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing.
  • Ability to translate user research, member insights, and product data into informed design solutions and engineering-ready specifications.
  • Experience presenting work and design rationale to senior leadership and advocating for user needs alongside business and technical constraints.
  • Preferred: experience working on personal finance products, working with remote teams, and building products in both B2B and B2C contexts.
