Description

  • Identify opportunities to develop, implement, and improve machine learning models and strategies for credit underwriting.
  • Apply AI and advanced machine learning approaches to solve complex business problems.
  • Evaluate alternative data sources and external vendor solutions through proof-of-concept projects.
  • Use in-house, external, and open-source machine learning software and algorithms.
  • Enhance the risk model development code base by building customized Python scripts or packages.
  • Work with Model Risk Management and Fair Lending teams to ensure models meet regulatory and governance requirements.
  • Lead model deployment efforts with Credit, Product, Engineering, and Business Unit partners.
  • Present model performance results and insights to Credit, Risk, and Business Unit leaders.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline plus 5 years of related experience, or Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years of related experience.
  • Experience with machine learning and statistical modeling for supervised and unsupervised learning.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Experience with databases and related tools including SQL, NoSQL, and Hive.
  • Experience with statistical inference.
  • Experience across the full model development cycle on a modern cloud platform, including development, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Experience with unsecured loan credit and cashflow underwriting.
  • Familiarity with credit bureau data such as Experian, TransUnion, or Equifax.
  • Experience implementing models, including CI/CD pipelines and deployment to production endpoints.
  • Any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience is acceptable.
