Description

  • Own and maintain integrated data models for lending, credit, fraud, AML, KYC, and related risk domains.
  • Architect and manage end-to-end data pipelines and infrastructure using dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, MongoDB, and Terraform.
  • Serve as the data engineering lead for data and AI initiatives and partner with full stack engineers, AI/ML engineers, and product managers to deliver production applications.
  • Own the data infrastructure for AI use cases, including RAG pipeline data management and evaluation dataset or ground truth curation.
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of data engineers.
  • Set standards for code quality, code review, testing, documentation, and CI/CD practices for data pipelines.
  • Establish data definitions, lineage, and quality standards aligned to regulatory expectations such as BCBS 239 and SR 11-7.
  • Implement data observability practices such as dbt tests, data contracts, freshness SLAs, and anomaly detection.
  • Write and review production code, own critical pipelines, and remain hands-on in the work.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in data engineering, with most of that experience inside US banks or financial institutions.
  • Deep knowledge of banking risk data domains, including lending, credit risk, deposits, AML, KYC, fraud, and banking regulations.
  • Expert-level experience with Snowflake, dbt, and Python.
  • Proven ability to design and own complex analytical data models.
  • Hands-on experience with Airflow, MongoDB, and Terraform in production environments.
  • Experience managing and mentoring data engineers.
  • Familiarity with banking regulatory expectations, including BCBS 239, BSA/AML regulations, and OCC/Fed/FDIC data expectations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data concepts for risk, compliance, and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience at a US bank in Model Risk, Integrated Risk, ERM, or Compliance Analytics is preferred.
  • Familiarity with GRC platforms such as ServiceNow and risk data warehouses is preferred.
  • Experience with LLM or AI application data pipelines and observability tooling is preferred.
