Description

  • Facilitate AML model development, implementation, optimization, assessment, and validation across customer screening, transaction screening, transaction monitoring, and customer risk rating.
  • Maintain, test, and configure AML vendor solutions to ensure sound design, correct implementation, and acceptable model performance.
  • Research, compile, and evaluate large datasets to assess data quality, integrity, completeness, and suitability for AML model development.
  • Architect and lead the design of advanced AML models using machine learning and statistical modeling methods.
  • Ensure AML compliance and regulatory requirements are embedded in model design and deployment.
  • Document modeling methodology, data sources, assumptions, and validation results.
  • Lead governance and quality control across the AML model lifecycle, including code reviews, methodology checks, input data integrity, and performance metrics.
  • Oversee documentation and review processes for internal model validation, regulatory examinations, and cross-functional approvals.
  • Develop governance documentation for tuning efforts, parameter changes, and data validation to maintain an audit trail.
  • Track and report model tuning, optimization, and performance results to senior management.
  • Develop management information dashboards that display real-time or near real-time AML metrics.
  • Partner with the AML Governance Unit to provide data for AML risk assessments, audits, and other regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, or another relevant field.
  • 3+ years of experience in the finance industry focused on BSA/AML, OFAC, or fraud modeling/analytics.
  • Statistical and data analysis skills, including data quality validation and predictive modeling experience in SQL and Python.
  • Knowledge of traditional databases, cloud-based computing, and distributed computing.
  • Track record of leading AML governance-related initiatives, including risk assessments, internal/external audits, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and across business lines.
  • Knowledge of AML regulations and the USA PATRIOT Act is preferred.
  • Familiarity with model risk management guidance, including Federal Reserve SR Letter 11-7, OCC Bulletin 2011-12, FDIC FIL 22-2017, and DFS504, is preferred.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau is preferred.
  • Experience with data monitoring systems such as DataDog or Monte Carlo is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud data infrastructure such as Snowflake is preferred.
  • Experience with automated transaction monitoring tools such as Verafin is preferred.
  • Experience with customer and transaction screening tools such as LexisNexis is preferred.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform is preferred.
  • Familiarity with virtualization and containerization tools such as Docker is preferred.
  • Familiarity with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes is preferred.
  • CAMS certification is preferred.
