Description

  • Collaborate with Product, Design, Engineering, and Data Science teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical leadership, and fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Solve complex problems across infrastructure, data pipelines, and backend services to improve reliability and scalability.
  • Identify opportunities for new technologies, AI/ML-driven marketing, and process improvements.
  • Own projects throughout the full lifecycle from ideation through deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Stay current on advances in AI/ML, personalization, and automation to improve marketing capabilities.
  • Build and support member-facing features in SoFi’s app and website.
  • Develop and maintain backend streaming services that power the front-end experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 2+ years of software engineering experience delivering scalable, production-grade applications.
  • Full-stack experience, including frontend technologies such as React and TypeScript or infrastructure tools such as Kafka, CI/CD, and observability tools.
  • Strong backend experience in Java, Kotlin, or Scala, with experience in Spring Boot or similar frameworks.
  • Experience designing and deploying microservices in a cloud-native environment using Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, and AWS.
  • Proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and ORMs, including data access optimization.
  • Ability to balance engineering excellence with business impact and prioritize high-value initiatives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on efficient, well-tested, maintainable solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and data teams.
  • Experience with MarTech or AdTech platforms, including campaign orchestration, SEO, attribution, or personalization, is preferred.
  • Interest in personal finance, fintech, or SoFi’s mission is preferred.
  • Prior experience with AI/ML-driven marketing solutions is preferred.
