Description

  • Provide clinical expertise to clients and Implementation Managers on drug spend, utilization, clinical management strategies, medication alternatives, and formulary compliance.
  • Serve as a clinical subject matter expert supporting Plan Operations team activities.
  • Act as a clinical liaison between Plan Operations and other internal SmithRx teams.
  • Explain formulary and clinical program value propositions to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Support communications of formulary changes and program updates for internal and external partners.
  • Recommend clinical programs for new clients to improve cost savings for clients and members.
  • Stay current on market trends and provide clinical market intelligence to clients and internal teams.
  • Communicate drug information to clients and respond to plan-specific clinical inquiries.
  • Create and update clinical marketing materials to support go-live activities for new groups.
  • Analyze data and interpret drug benefit designs while communicating reporting needs to supporting departments.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Pharmacy, RPh, or PharmD.
  • Current and unrestricted pharmacist license in any state.
  • 3+ years of experience working as a licensed pharmacist.
  • 2+ years of working knowledge of healthcare benefits, account management, pharmacy benefits, pharmacy plan designs, or commercial health insurance preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a client-facing role with external clients required.
  • Executive-level communication skills, including developing and delivering formal presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an empathic, consultative communication style.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an extended, cross-functional team.
  • Self-driven, results-oriented work ethic with the ability to take initiative and move projects forward.
  • Passion for customer experience and customer satisfaction.
