Description

  • Lead and participate in qualitative and quantitative user research, including interviews and surveys.
  • Synthesize research findings into actionable design requirements.
  • Lead discovery sessions and evaluate user requirements with product owners, project managers, business leads, and customer success teams.
  • Guide UX projects through all phases of product development, delivery, and iteration.
  • Create sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups, storyboards, and prototypes.
  • Define complex workflows and navigation for Smile’s product solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with front-end development teams to translate designs into code.
  • Contribute to and maintain Smile’s in-house UX Style Framework and ensure consistent application across projects.
  • Advocate for user-centered design and validate user flows and prototypes with end-users and user proxies.
  • Apply accessibility guidelines and design inclusive experiences for diverse user needs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industry experience as a UX/UI Designer or similar role; post-secondary education is preferred.
  • Experience working within an Agile Scrum team.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating the ability to create valuable and meaningful user experiences.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong visual design skills with the ability to create clear visual hierarchies in user interfaces.
  • Experience with qualitative UX methods and tools such as usability testing and remote testing.
  • Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture.
  • Highly proficient in Figma, including components/design systems, variables, and interactive prototyping.
  • Significant experience building and maintaining design systems.
  • Experience in user research and research methodologies.
  • Experience designing for front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap, Angular, and React.
  • Experience working with front-end developers to ensure design implementation accuracy.
  • Healthcare design experience is considered an asset.
  • Existing knowledge of FHIR and clinical data workflows between payers and providers is a plus.
  • Existing knowledge of clinical measures in the U.S. is a plus.
  • Existing knowledge of analytics and non-relational data is a plus.
  • Experience with custom designs extending frameworks such as GoJS, JointJS, or React Diagrams is a plus.
