Description

  • Develop and maintain backend systems using PHP, Symfony, and PHPUnit.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business, technical, and testing goals.
  • Estimate, plan, and break down work to support confident delivery.
  • Review specifications, design solutions, and deliver high-impact features.
  • Monitor, deploy, and troubleshoot features in staging and production.
  • Own incidents during on-call rotations and resolve issues quickly.
  • Enforce coding standards, testing standards, and documentation quality.
  • Conduct code reviews, maintain test coverage, and improve code quality.
  • Design scalable APIs and systems and champion clean, maintainable architecture.
  • Mentor peers on TDD, BDD, DDD, and best practices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of PHP experience.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on Symfony experience with one project; Laravel-only experience is not qualifying.
  • 1.5+ years of PHPUnit experience for testing.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
  • Strong knowledge of backend development, scalable architecture, and secure coding practices.
  • Familiarity with OWASP and secure development practices.
  • Experience with MongoDB is preferred (2+ years).
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is preferred.
  • Experience with JavaScript, jQuery, React, API development, NodeJS, or TypeScript is preferred.
