Description

  • Lead and develop a distributed team of orbital analysts delivering actionable insights from GSN data.
  • Oversee day-to-day analyst operations, workload allocation, priorities, operational metrics, and mission timelines.
  • Review and validate analysis products and customer deliverables for accuracy, consistency, and quality.
  • Engage with government, civil, and commercial customers to provide mission updates, operational support, and technical guidance.
  • Serve as Slingshot’s Technical Point of Contact on GSN data sale contracts.
  • Support contracts involving GSN data, orbital analyst support, and analysis at space operations centers.
  • Oversee workflows for space domain awareness, sensor tasking, orbital event assessment, conjunction analysis, and customer reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve operational efficiency, mission readiness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development for the Orbital Analyst team.
  • Support surge or after-hours operational activities during critical mission events when required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, physics, astronomy, mathematics, engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting SDA, SSA/STC, orbital analysis, space operations, or related aerospace mission environments, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in line with operational and budgetary plans and priorities.
  • Experience leading technical teams, mission operations, or operational programs in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience working with optical systems, telescopes, sensor operations, or space surveillance systems.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to operate effectively in time-sensitive situations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple operational priorities, customer deliverables, and distributed team coordination simultaneously.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate effectively across distributed international teams and multiple time zones.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen eligible for government clearances, with preference for an existing active clearance.
  • Experience with optical telescopes, robotic enclosures, camera systems, observatory equipment, compute hardware, or remote sensing systems (preferred).
  • Experience supporting remote, distributed, or unmanned technical infrastructure (preferred).
  • Familiarity with site surveys, site readiness assessments, installation planning, commissioning, and acceptance testing (preferred).
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs, spare parts planning, inventory control, or field service operations (preferred).
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, space domain awareness, observatory operations, industrial automation, telecom, or other high-reliability technical environments (preferred).
  • Familiarity with ISO, AS9100, or other quality/manufacturing compliance frameworks (preferred).
  • OSHA 30 certification (preferred).
  • PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar project/process management certification (preferred).
  • Experience in a startup, scale-up, or rapidly evolving technical operations environment (preferred).
