Description

  • Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research, including interviews, usability sessions, and surveys.
  • Synthesize research findings into clear, actionable insights and communicate the story behind the data.
  • Create low-fidelity wireframes and prototypes in Figma in partnership with designers.
  • Develop personas, journey maps, and service blueprints for AI service experiences.
  • Apply Section 508 and WCAG accessibility standards throughout research and design work.
  • Use research to improve onboarding, training, product decisions, customer success, and adoption.
  • Represent user needs with evidence and prototypes while collaborating with engineers, designers, and CMS stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of UX/HCD research experience with hands-on design exposure or a related field.
  • Strong skills in user research, usability testing, synthesis, and research communication.
  • Working knowledge of wireframing and prototyping in Figma.
  • Familiarity with the USWDS and federal customer experience mandates.
  • Experience with Figma, Mural, Dovetail, or similar research and design tools.
  • Working knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG accessibility standards.
  • Experience researching data-heavy or AI-driven products such as dashboards, search, chat, or knowledge tools.
  • Strong visual and interaction design skills, including creating polished, USWDS-aligned prototypes preferred.
  • Experience supporting CMS or another federal agency preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance; employment is contingent on a background investigation.
