Description

  • Oversee capital projects to ensure compliance with the Thermal Energy Services Agreement (TESA) and meet safety, cost, schedule, and quality goals.
  • Manage multiple industrial decarbonization projects through all stages of the Stage-Gate process, from proposal to ongoing operations and maintenance.
  • Coordinate with customers, suppliers, financiers, program managers, engineering firms, permitting authorities, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage project budgets and schedules.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks using proactive strategies.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between customers and project stakeholders.
  • Oversee procurement activities for each project.
  • Monitor and report project progress across cost, schedule, scope, and risk metrics.
  • Lead the bidding process for engineering firms, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Negotiate contracts, bids, and project scope to maximize customer satisfaction while minimizing costs and delays.
  • Review vendor, supplier, consultant, contractor bids, and engineering designs for accuracy and completeness.
  • Implement lessons learned to improve future project delivery and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of engineering and/or project management experience in a brownfield industrial construction environment.
  • 5+ years of experience leading major CapEx projects over $20MM involving multiple functions, disciplines, customers, and sites.
  • Proven experience managing engineering firms, consultants, suppliers, contractors, subcontractors, and internal resources.
  • Familiarity with fixed and rotating equipment, MW-scale electrical infrastructure, and the Stage-Gate project delivery process.
  • Technical knowledge across mechanical, piping, civil, structural, process, electrical, and controls disciplines.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and managing industrial manufacturing equipment and controls.
  • Understanding of contract management, team building, and client relationship management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to manage multiple projects and communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed, approximately 20% annually.
  • Ability to work remotely from a home office and at project sites as required.
  • Preferred: 10+ years of engineering and/or project management experience in brownfield industrial capital projects.
  • Preferred: 7+ years leading major CapEx projects over $20MM across multiple functions, disciplines, customers, and sites.
  • Preferred: Project management experience with an Owner/Operator rather than an EPC firm or General Contractor.
  • Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Preferred: Experience executing projects with grant funding at the federal, state, and/or local level.
  • Preferred: Understanding of project finance and experience working with multiple financial stakeholders.
