Description

  • Lead and manage multiple partner P&C MGU/MGA/Program Administrator portfolios across a broad range of programs.
  • Oversee surety programs, including review of new submissions, due diligence, and ongoing production and profitability management.
  • Develop P&C underwriting guidelines, Letters of Authority, and standards and procedures for exceptions outside the guidelines.
  • Track and manage key performance indicators, including pricing objectives, profit improvement, and combined loss ratio results.
  • Partner with Finance, Actuarial, Claims, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and IT to resolve issues and drive execution.
  • Support development of program and ceded business documents with Underwriting, the CUO, and Legal.
  • Develop new P&C products, including research, underwriting guidelines, SERFF support, pricing, and state submissions and approvals.
  • Perform audits and program reviews, including review of policies, applications, endorsements, OFAC, and plan documents.
  • Identify and manage portfolio-level risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Maintain relationships with MGUs/MGAs/Program Administrators, brokers, reinsurers, and internal support units.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc management reports.
  • Support new business initiatives, triage new opportunities, and assist with staff training and development.
  • Provide coverage expertise to Claims and lead marketing presentations to agents and brokers.
  • Lead complex projects and develop recommendations for unique business and customer challenges.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Property and Casualty insurance experience in an underwriting and/or product role, preferably in surety.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop analytical or dynamic underwriting models.
  • Ability to identify the tools needed for a task and develop product solutions.
  • Experience providing leadership that drives underwriting process improvement through technology, outsourcing, or internal innovation.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and a desire to help others solve problems.
  • Confidence in your skill set, willingness to learn, and ability to make an impact.
  • Entrepreneurial experience creating new and emerging products for rapid entry into new markets.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience in underwriting and/or product management for P&C insurance, with surety experience preferred.
  • Ability to work without employment visa sponsorship, as sponsorship is not available.
