Description

  • Handle inbound pharmacy calls and make proactive outbound refill and engagement calls in English and Spanish.
  • Educate and guide patients through the end-to-end medication refill process.
  • Coordinate prescription refills, including data entry and pharmacy claim adjudication.
  • Perform prescription status checks and resolve adjudication or coverage issues.
  • Serve as a liaison among patients, pharmacists, clinicians, payors, and internal support teams.
  • Communicate with pharmacists and clinicians to clarify prescriptions and resolve discrepancies.
  • Identify medications requiring special handling, such as refrigerated or hazardous medications, and follow proper protocols.
  • Accurately document patient, prescription, and communication records across multiple systems.
  • Identify repeat issues and trends and escalate opportunities for workflow or process improvement.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and healthcare privacy standards.

Requirements

  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required.
  • Active state pharmacy technician registration required or obtainable with national certification.
  • Willingness to obtain any additional required licensure within an agreed timeframe.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of pharmacy technician experience preferred.
  • Experience with medication refill management, pharmacy claim adjudication, and insurance troubleshooting preferred.
  • Experience in specialty pharmacy, complex therapies, remote settings, call centers, or high-volume pharmacy environments is a strong plus.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish, spoken and written, is required.
  • Ability to communicate complex healthcare and medication information clearly and compassionately in both languages.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems, platforms, and workflows.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and multitasking abilities.
