Description

  • Build the new platform’s foundational control plane and multi-tenant architecture, including writing and merging initial production code with AI-assisted tooling.
  • Design, own, and evolve the unified data model and publish it through a public API specification.
  • Define platform architecture across data stores, identity, multi-tenancy, security, and API layers.
  • Own telemetry-scale data retrieval and query performance for live operations consoles, analytics, and AI workloads.
  • Select the technology stack, platform standards, initial cloud environment, and portability approach.
  • Design integrations with large language models and AI services for operational insights, recommendations, and natural-language data access.
  • Define the site-data ingestion contract in partnership with the Integrations team.
  • Provide technical direction to early platform engineers and establish engineering patterns for the team.
  • Partner closely with Product Management, Integrations, and Developer Platform teams.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience building backend and platform systems.
  • Recent hands-on experience shipping a multi-tenant SaaS platform or Kubernetes control plane as the technical decision-maker within the past three years.
  • Experience designing and evolving domain data models for complex operational systems, including assets, hierarchies, time series, events, versioning, and migrations.
  • Experience delivering telemetry-scale retrieval performance using time-series and relational storage, such as PostgreSQL with TimescaleDB, and columnar engines such as ClickHouse.
  • Experience designing live and analytical queries over long data histories and meeting API latency targets.
  • Hands-on experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure, Kubernetes, and Helm.
  • Experience building enterprise SaaS identity, tenancy, and security by design.
  • Experience publishing APIs or data-model specifications for other teams or external organizations and producing actionable architecture decisions.
  • Experience as a senior individual contributor on foundational production platform code.
  • Experience with agentic coding tools and reviewing agent-written code (preferred).
  • Experience with DCIM products, Kafka-compatible streaming, MQTT brokers, OpenTelemetry, LLM platform integrations, multi-cloud deployments, or customer-hosted/air-gapped software environments (preferred).
