Description

  • Own the full accounts payable lifecycle, including invoice intake, coding, approvals, payments, and vendor communication.
  • Review and code invoices accurately and on time, including expense classification, prepaid amortization, and coordination on accruals and thresholds.
  • Maintain vendors and purchase orders in the procure-to-pay system.
  • Support the operational processing and release of client and seller payouts while partnering with teams handling calculation and reconciliation.
  • Drive continuous process improvement by identifying gaps, proposing changes, implementing workflow enhancements, and improving documentation and training.
  • Leverage automation and AI-enabled tools to reduce manual effort and improve scalability in accounts payable.
  • Supervise and support a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist through coaching, work review, and prioritization while remaining hands-on.
  • Monitor payment timing and adherence to payment terms and support Finance with cash usage management.
  • Partner with Accounting on month-end close support, audit requests, and ad hoc reporting.
  • Contribute to the annual 1099 process and own unclaimed property tracking and reporting.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance with exposure to accounts payable.
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals beyond basic invoice processing.
  • Experience supporting month-end close and internal or external audits.
  • Ability to make day-to-day decisions independently and escalate thoughtfully when needed.
  • Comfort using automation and AI-enabled tools to reduce manual work and improve AP processes.
  • Experience with procure-to-pay and ERP systems; Zip and NetSuite are preferred.
  • Ability to operate in the details and handle a high volume of transactions.
  • Curiosity and a tech-forward mindset with interest in automation and process improvement.
  • Reliability, organization, and proactivity.
  • Strong communication skills with both accounting and non-accounting partners.
  • Approachable, collaborative, and practical working style.
